red wine Gabriëlskloof Five Arches 2009

Gabriëlskloof is located in the Bot River where the south winds prevail from the Atlantic Ocean. The meso-climate, combined with the geological structure of the soil (Table Mountain Sandstone and shale), provides ideal growing vines (low yield and good concentration).

Rating :

Assembly of 29% Cabernet Franc, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Malbec, 18% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. The wine was aged in French oak for the majority (key U.S. barrels). After 12 months of aging in new oak barrels, the winemaker has made a careful selection of the best barrels. The barrels were then selected and transferred to French oak barrels of second use to spend an additional 10 months. The wine was then retained one year in bottle before being marketed.
